Ingredients for 4 persons
For the Bratwurst
4 authentic German bratwursts (approx. 600 g)
15 ml vegetable oil
For the Velvety Onion Sauce
2 large onions (approx. 400 g), thinly sliced in half rings
30 g butter
15 g flour
400 ml beef stock
100 ml red wine (preferably German Spätburgunder)
5 g Dijon mustard
5 ml Worcestershire sauce
Sea salt and freshly ground black pepper
For the Creamy Mashed Potatoes
800 g floury potatoes (Bintje or Agria type)
50 g butter
100-150 ml whole milk
Pinch of freshly grated nutmeg
Sea salt to taste
